some visuals for you - click on the photograph

Fez and the holiday week-end in Rabat 13/10/2007 13:05

I apologize for the delay, I have much to tell you, but as Q says, "Writers are either out having adventures or they are writing about them; you can't do both at the same time."

I will tell you about the trip to Fez, all that is going on with the end of Ramadan and Part IV of the evening on the beach - as soon as I can. I am getting on an airplane on Tuesday and heading for Canada.

Ciao for now.

You have this new photo toy down pat, don't you? I want the 90 second orientation thank you.
Happy end of Ramadan, I don't know the name of the festival.
Surrey, get ready, Lady Mac is coming to town.

My Lady,

Under the auspices of the UN my husand and I spent some time in Morocco. It was, without a doubt, a most delightful country. The course of our travels took us everywhere except for Tangiers.

I remember so well Rabat, Casablanca, Essouria, Fez, Marrakech, Moulay Idris and a score of other locales.

we went up into the Atlas Mountains and into the Sahara to a Berber camp. I remember riding a camel into the desert to see the sunrise in the Sahara.

Such good memories.

Thank you so much for reminding me so beautifully of a great experience and bringing Morocco to the notice of those who have not yet visited.

Excuse please...

I forgot to say that somehow I mislaid my heart in Fes. I must go back some day to pick it up.

The slide show was wonderful - made me long to go to some of those beautiful places myself!

In another life perhaps? And I'd have a little house just like the one you have (which I've never see of course, only imagined). And would definitely gather up one of those little cats and take it home!

Not at all sure I could weather the heat of Morocco, mind you. I'm Scottish too, by skin-type and heritage - and a tremendous life-long seeker of deepest shade...

We have Picasa too by the way - I wonder why I haven't thought of getting-up an album like yours?

All good wishes for the trip to Canada - and do come to visit me again when you return! I've been thinking I must have let you down in some way with my story lately...

And am coming very near the end - so do please call at least once more before I go!

What a wonderful description! Yes, Fez is the heart isn't it? I do believe it captures the heart of everyone who can hear the whispers of the medina...
